Know The Theory Of Relativity

Everything in life is relative. If you had a million dollars and
somehow lost three quarters of it, you would be pretty devastated. If,
on the other hand, you were flat broke, but somehow found a thousand
dollars, you would be quite over the moon.
In absolute terms, obviously 250 grand is much better than a
thousand. But it's where you came from that made the difference.
Similarly, if you compare yourself to the richest and smartest men
in the world, you are probably nothing. But if you compare yourself to
the average wage and intelligence, you could be something.
If you compare your life to the perfect life, you will never
be satisfied, and never be happy. On the other hand, comparing your
current situation to the roughest times of your life, or the lives of
people who are going through hell, will make you realize how fortunate
you are, and how happy you should be.
Realize that happiness is relative. There is really a lot to be
happy for.
